ESPIONAGE

Story

PASH cofounded his first band Espionage in 1980, a year after returning from North Africa. Hot on the local scene in Liverpool, the band were soon scouted and signed by A&M Records in London, and after parting ways with their first producer, were flown out to Hollywood’s iconic Cherokee Studios to work with famed Queen producer Roy Thomas Baker.

Their first single - ‘Sound of Breaking Hearts’ - was an 80's synth-pop shot of snarling vocals and staccato synthesisers set to a glitchy cyberpunk music video and announced their arrival as one of the year’s breakout New Wave acts.
