"I transform people's music" - Pash's production ethos is simple.

I've been known as Pash for 40 years. So the name of the band - ANALOG P.A.S.H - seemed obvious as it mixes my name with my love of the analogue tape, vintage valve and transistor equipment that are all around me in the recording studio.

Growing up, music always drew him back - from tinkering with his dad’s 8-track studio to learning guitar, bass and drums in his teenage years.

PASH’S career in music began with an unlikely invitation.

PASH cofounded his first band Espionage in 1980, a year after returning from North Africa.

Espionage’s second album saw them signed to Warner Bros’ Elektra Records, but troubles quickly arose after a sudden pullout from the label left PASH and Espionage’s other cofounder as the only remaining members.

“It was a weird life, that”, PASH remembers, recounting an interaction with Barbara Streisand at a Hollywood party.

Always is the best love song I've written. With its avant guard synthesiser approach I've always felt that it would stand the test of time; it still makes me feel warm to know that Always was chosen by a leading music industry producer to play at his wedding ahead of tracks by musicians that he represented!

Recorded in 1984 and released in 1985 ESP, Espionage's second album had a rocky gestation as the band abruptly lost the backing of its record company. 40 years on I think that there were some beautiful songs with ground breaking production. The album had a mix of commercial and experimental tracks; we used analogue synthesisers to replace conventional instruments creating a sound with an electronic backbone yet woven with guitar, drums and brass for emphasis.
